Who we are
Realbook.site is a free online library and editor of jazz lead sheets. We do not sell user data and we do not run advertising.
Information we collect
Account data. When you register, we store your username, email address, and any optional name you provide. Registration is handled by the Ultimate Member plugin.
Content you upload. Sheet music files (MusicXML) and related text you upload are stored on the site and attributed to your account.
Comments. When you leave a comment we collect the data in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent to help detect spam. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to display your avatar; see the Gravatar privacy policy at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Server logs. Our hosting automatically records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested.
Cookies
If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. When you log in we set cookies to keep you signed in and remember your display choices; login cookies last up to two weeks if you choose “Keep me signed in”. Two-factor authentication may set an additional cookie.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (via the Site Kit plugin) and Yandex Metrica to understand how the site is used and to improve it. These services collect usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. This data is processed by Google and Yandex under their own privacy policies.
Spam protection
Comments are checked through the Akismet anti-spam service, which processes comment data to detect spam.
Embedded content
Score pages may embed videos (for example from YouTube). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the third-party site directly and those sites may set their own cookies and collect data.
External links and donations
We link to our Telegram channel and to Ko-fi for optional donations. These third-party services have their own privacy policies and are outside our control.
How long we keep your data
Comments and account information are kept until you ask us to remove them. You can view and edit your profile at any time while logged in.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and data, by emailing admin@realbook.site. We may retain limited data where required for security or legal reasons.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
