Sentimental Journey
Lyrics
1944 - Les Brown / Ben Homer Gonna take a sentimental journey Gonna set my heart at ease Gonna make a sentimental journey To renew old memories Got my bag, got my reservation Spent each dime I could afford Like a child in wild anticipation Long to hear that, “All aboard!" Seven, that's the time we leave, at seven I'll be waitin' up at heaven Countin' every mile of railroad track That takes me back Never thought my heart could be so yearny Why did I decide to roam? Gonna take that sentimental journey Sentimental journey home
About "Sentimental Journey"
Sentimental Journey is the debut solo studio album by the English musician Ringo Starr. It was released by Apple Records in March 1970 as the Beatles were breaking up. The album is a collection of pre-rock 'n' roll standards that Starr recalled from his childhood in Liverpool. As a departure from the experimental quality that had characterised solo LPs by George Harrison and John Lennon since 1968, it was the first studio album by an individual Beatle to embrace a popular music form.
