What is a real book?
A real book is a collection of jazz lead sheets: the melody, the chord symbols and the form of a tune on a single page, with the arrangement left to the players. Musicians have carried them to gigs for fifty years.
Realbook.site is that idea online. Every one of the 865 standards here opens in your browser — read the chart, transpose it to any key for B♭, E♭ or bass-clef instruments, and play it back to hear the form before you count it off. Free, with no account and nothing to install.
Downloading a chart as PDF, MusicXML, MEI or MIDI costs $1 for a single score. For the whole catalog and the notation editor there is an Editor plan — $10 a month, or paid once at $10 for a month or $100 for a year, with up to 20 downloads a day.
